Finally it’s arrived, a new start in a brand new home! Although exciting moving can be a stressful experience. Here are some top tips to make the actual day go as smoothly as possible. Keep these items with you or clearly labelled to hand on the day of the move.

Stay Connected:

  • Often our TV’s, computers and other electronic equipment have a mass of wires hidden out of view. To ensure a quick set up in your new home, use stickers to colour code wires and take a quick photograph on your phone.

  • Pack a separate bag of electronic essentials such as phone chargers, laptops and tablets.

  • Pencil and paper.

Kitchen:

  • Keep a box packed of kitchen essentials for the day it self.

  • A kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, milk and sugar and teaspoons. A packed lunch and bag of treats to keep everyone going.

  • A roll of bin liners.

  • A set of plates, bowls and cutlery for each member of the family.

  • Pet food and bowls.

  • The next days breakfast.

  • Kitchen roll, spot cleaning wipes for any accidents on brand new floor surfaces.

Bedroom/ Bathroom:

  • Bedding and bed linen for each member of the family.

  • Clothes for the next day.

  • Towels.

  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste

  • Toiletries.

  • Toilet Rolls.

Tool Kit:

  • Scissors.

  • Torch.

  • Hammer.

  • Utility Knife.

  • Spirit Level

  • Drill.

  • Screw Driver.

  • Spanner.

  • Masking Tape.

  • Light Bulbs.

  • Candles.

Finally, don’t forget to take your favourite tipple and glasses to celebrate and consider purchasing a new toy to keep children and pets occupied.
